Though I adapt the sessions depending on your level, I will keep a similar approach to all my classes.
We start our sessions standing up. The aim is to center yourself, ground yourself through the four corners of your feet and engage your lines of force (think the five lines you would draw as a kid when drawing a stick-figure). Finding your lines of force is what will enable you to know if your body is in the right posture as the class progresses.
It is not about making a shape, it is about getting your alignment right to fit your body.
We then progress to the sun salutations, a set sequence of movements to wake up your body and focus your mind.
We follow the sun salutations with half a dozen strengthening postures – these are the ones that will get your muscles fired up.
After these, we start the cooling down process, getting our breath back under control and focusing on calming our mind and body.
We finish off this session with some breath awareness and relaxation lying down.
I am a hands-on teacher, which means I will adjust and challenge your posture, to ensure your alignment is optimal to fit your body and you are practicing safe yoga.
Born and raised in France in a multi-cultural family, Rachel discovered yoga while on a backpacking trip in Asia in 2014. Over the last six years she has experienced different types of yoga, from FlyHighYoga® with the master himself, Jose Luis to hot yoga and had the opportunity to learn from brilliant teachers.
In September 2016, she moved to Dublin to work in tech and a little under four years later, in May 2020, Rachel started her Teacher Training Course (RYS 200) at Yago Yoga in Dublin, where she currently lives.
As she is still training, Rachel is offering free one on one or one to two classes to focus on both her own and her students learning. All she asks for in return is for a little patience and constructive feedback. Please head over to her schedule to sign up to one of her classes.
